Every layer of sound. You can hear every detail and the additional tracks are just as incredible, interesting, and amazing. Masterpiece.

The best releases since the "Still" CD. Reliving "The Fragile" in a new beautiful way has been jaw dropping.

Edited one year agowhat an amazing release. the sound on this one is a work of arts and crafts.
the rework on the mix is soft but capital gain. some tracks seems anewed (Underneath It All, The Big Come Down, Ripe With Decay ...) and very few lose a bit (Starfuckers, Inc., and... ? i don't even know). the extra tracks go from (pretty) good to interesting and never impoverish the overall results.
an absolute must-listen, in his vinyl form, for every fan of the original or the band. -
A lot of minor pops and clicks throughout on my copy, but man what a fantastic release nonetheless. This presents old favorites in a way that makes them feel new again, and introduces a lot of fantastic previously unreleased material. Some of the unreleased stuff I can understand why it got cut, but none of it is bad.
It's also interesting on the LPs themselves are not directly labeled, instead having to rely on matching up their colors with the included legend/track list. It can feel a bit annoying at times, but it adds a twist to the hands-on vinyl experience. This, combined with the outer sleeve art being ambiguous as to front vs. back, makes me wonder if it was done on purpose to impart the idea that there is no specific intended play order. It certainly does seem like all 8 sides could be played in any order and provide a fantastic experience every time.
Highly recommend! -
I have got one with the same sticker on front but without "Halo Thirty" on the back... Is this official? Bought it from imusic.dk

I love it. I recommend it all the time. Especially if you like the fragile. Especially if you like Ghosts.

Edited 2 years ago'The Fragile' remained my favorite album since I first heard it, but now it has a successor. I absolutely love this version, which I now consider the 'definitive' version. Honestly, I've never been that partial to Reznor's style of lyrics, and I think this is a great vessel for letting the music really speak for itself. Even if some of the newly unearthed material occasionally sounds like unfinished songs that they might have given up on halfway through, the treatment they are given here doesn't make them feel like it, it's all very cohesive. Plus, some of the new instrumentals are really, really fascinating.
For anyone wondering in case no one else mentions, the instrumental versions are not simply karaoke tracks, nor are the original instrumental pieces the same as the original album. It all is given new life and intensity. If The original version feels like an expansive adventure of danger, loss, and beauty, this version will feel like a much-deserved scenic route.
