Get into Magic:
A2: Dream Universe (After On Sunday DJ George's Mix)
1997 - Always on Sundays... 12 noon... – the closing hymn at Dorian Gray (Frankfurt).

Edited 10 months agoMono sound? Really? Yes, the Man With No Name and Taucher mixes on this CD are mono, even though the vinyl copies are stereo. Really poor show there Hooj! It is not the first time they have messed up like this. The Slacker Mix of Andy Ling - Fixation springs to mind.
-
Superb Trance an all time classic, still sounds fresh. I think this is good value at the price, buy it.

What about the sound quality on this new repress ? -
My curiosity to learn more about the artist led me to this release. The duo also produced as "hand's Burn" who were responsible for another of my favourite tracks from this era "Good Shot". https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/Hands-Burn-Good-Shot/master/112003
I would have never learned of this connection which is so obvious once you know - this is why I love Discogs.
Sadly one half of the duo was killed in a car crash in 1999, this is tragic on so many levels, the scene lost a real talent and I can only dream of what he may have gone on to produce in the intervening 20 years. His productions have a profound effect on me, always have and always will.
Rest in Peace brother.

Edited 8 years agoThere you have the two best remixes of this legendary track - with FULL LENGTH.
The Marino S(tephano) (s)Pace mix and its instantly recognizable dreamy melody, it bring back so many emotions... It's simultaneously happy and melancholic, making you float in the higher spheres in the (space) trance heavens.
And then... there's the monument : the After on Sunday by the king DJ George's from la Bush, with the best (simple) break ever made, lasting way over 4 minutes. This is spiritual trance, it's the Hero's Journey. From the known audio fields of the original's build up & melodies, you fall through the (nearly silent) abyss where only a mesmerizing pad lingers. And from this low threshold starts the atonement process, the ascent to a new world. Drums call for the realization of fate & destiny, and one by one the elements slowly appear again. After a few minutes floating, the rebirth is complete, and you shall not wander anymore in these tormented days. -
First time I encountered Dream Universe was on Tiësto's "Forbidden Paradise 6" mix-compilation. I don't think you can find a more perfect piece of melodic trance than this tune. I certainly haven't.
It's a very simple production and you can easily break down every single element of the song in your head, but it's filled with such emotions only Marino Stephano and Crisci Mauro could provide.
If you want to just lay down and dream yourself away, put this classic on. -
Edited 20 years agotilt mix is very high energy and epic. adds some chanting to the tune. if you've heard the original, melodic version of the song, it's just mind-blowing what tilt did to this one.

Edited 20 years agoI love the Taucher remix, my missus loves Tilt's. Tauchers has it for me because of it's minimalism. The first couple of minutes and the last couple are just like a percussive Tech/trance workout. The two halves are separated by a WHOPPING breakdown of the big emotional strings and soft horns type. I LOVE THIS!
