A lot of people say This Nation's Saving Grace is the best Fall record, but this is actually the best Fall record. -

The Fall at their very best, I reckon. This and the Peel Sessions. -

Sounds fine to me. Not like this was recorded with hi fidelity in mind. -

Essential. When I needed dough, I sold other Fall LPs here. I kept Slates. -

I already had a copy of this record then won another off John Peel. Can't for the life of me the 'competition'! (It was over 40 years ago and I'm old). Anyway he signed it. Result! -

Hate to complain about anybody who's putting out classic Fall LPs on vinyl...but sticking all the "slates" on one side of the vinyl is not helping anything sound wise... And the b-side is just a hodgepodge, was "medical acceptance gate" even recorded anywhere near the same time as the other sessions? They had the original 10-inch pressed again few years back, and even original copies aren't that scarce... So now I've got two original copies, the re-pressed 10 inch, and THIS...
They say that the first step is itting you have a problem...
Somebody should just get the rights to the Narnack "fall heads roll" 2XLP and get THAT re-pressed... -

I'd give this one a miss. I've never seen a run-out so short. I couldn't believe my eyes. Of course, it sounds atrocious that close to the center of the disc, so Leave the Capital sounds like it's buried under 1,000 down duvets. -

Don't know about the wisdom of cramming the whole original EP onto one side of vinyl - thats 23.45 mins. I think the audio quality suffers on my copy. Got to crank the volume up a fair bit beyond what I would normally. Should have been split across two discs if going to add the extras

My copy has both sides with Side 2 labels. The record itself is fine though. Pretty happy with this reissue.

A fantastic, short and sharp record that finds the Fall in peak form. The vinyl reissue by Superior Viaduct sounds very good. I can only compare to the 1992 cd release of this record combined with "A Part of America Therein," and that cd sounds thin and sub par in comparison. Do you like the Fall? Buy this record. Do you not like the Fall? Buy this record and give it away.
