Just reading through the comments about this record.
Not sure why people are so sure this is a fake!
I can hundred percent confirm it was a real promo 12" in the UK as I was working for a music promotion company back in late 80's and had a box of these to give to record shops. But it was withdrawn and we had to send them back to be destroyed. Obviously some survived and as a fan I kept one.
No idea why the label decided against the release. great track

Does anyone know why this wasn't (legitimately) released in the UK?

It looks like a bootleg, but i don't care as long as they sell it like it is, a burned cd.

I also have a copy of this and it is authentic. The provenance of my copy is that I bought it from a record store in central London in 1989 shortly after BURNS T5 Come Home With Me Baby was released. So timing and location of my acquisition fit with this being an authentic article. I have owned it since then.

I have one of the supposedly few UK promo copies of this. It is official. Read both reviews, and there are inconsistencies with the post regarding Steve Coy. There's no way someone could have copied the tracks from a CD - one of the BDSG versions on this 12" isn't even on a CD, including the Japanese versions. Impossible for this to be fake or bootleg, had to come from a master. To the person who keeps changing the listing to "unofficial", you sound angry about not having a copy. Chill dude!

From Steve Coy to me via [email protected]:

"This record that you mention [BURNS T6] is a FAKE, I can absolutely guarantee that it does not exist, and definitely would not be something that Epic Records U.K would press up, that's for damn sure.

You can tell your guy at ******** that the record you quote is most definitely a fake/bootleg, because I have a tight contractual control over whatever has EVER been issued, and CBS/Epic/SonyBMG or any other imprint or label incarnation have to gain my written approval to manufacture any discs bearing our name or our tracks.
And this record was not pressed or cut by anyone from a record company we deal with, guaranteed!I have an archive of every single disc variation and every 'rarity' ever made, and this fake is not in existence.
You know, it's very easy and relatively cheap to have a custom white label vinyl record cut and pressed by some dodgy mastering facilities, so I'm guessing this is exactly that, cut from CD's and transfered that way."

Anyone is free to Steve Coy at the above email to confirm this.
