Streisand* – Guilty

Compared with the 1980 European version, this one has a clearer sound, the voices and instruments stand out well, and the whole gives a more interesting impression of musical amplitude.
Even though I used to consider the EU version to be excellent, I now only listen to the UK version.

Very musical, upfront presence, vocals on point even when Babs is belting out the highest notes it doesn't get harsh or piercing. Full range, great separation, excellent detail. I was debating to get this half speed master or the japanese pressing, and I'm quite impressed with this one! I have never heard the japanese pressing,but can't imagine it being much better.

The record is a little sibilant on almost all the songs.

A stellar album from start from to finish. Fantastic pressing - quiet / fiat / wide soundstage and super mastering. Streisand and Gibb at their best.

OK, boys and girls, here we have a Bee Gees album with Babs as a singer-if you have any doubts please check the songwriting credits, all of them written by the Brothers Gibb (the BEE GEES), but since her enormous ego would not let it be released that way, it is credited to her- I am positive that at this stage , she would disown this as one of her albums...even the bass player is from Andy's band...so, a Bee Gees album in spite of the incorrect credit overall...really, listen to it and you will realize it's basically a Bee Gees album, fits perfectly in their timeline...I do hope that they did got paid for the songwriting royalties for this LP...I got an early pressing which sounds great...GUILTY pleasure??? yes, INDEED!!!

For an Australian pressing in the 1980s, this is a great one. Very dynamic. Lots of stereo separation and very quiet. I’d estimate it’s no more than 110g, but despite that it plays very quiet. Wonderful Barry Gibb production and multitracking.

I got this for free. Nice detail and very good bass. Nice sheet about the 1/2 speed process and digital recording in there too!

Picked this copy up at High End Munich and very happy that I did. I already had a standard 1980 copy printed in Holland. Compared to this one the Dutch version almost sounds a bit dull and flat. This Japanese copy, also by CBS/Sony is a lot more rich and full in sound providing for a more immersive experience.

And besides that.. what a perfect album.

Superb album and very nicely produced. Full sound a rich detail. My copy is 42 years old and still sounds great
