1991 style Ardkore from 1993. These guys must have slept on this track for a long time. They would have done better to release it as a white or under a different name in 91. The track itself is a nice little roller with a really sick riff and breakbeat. It doesn't sound anything like Snap! and I'm surprised this was a commercial release as it sounds quite underground. There was however a crappy remix of this on the Snap! album which is why I was taken by surprised when I found a clip of this on youtube and it was good.

I had no idea this was an 'ardkore track! I first heard this on Ultimix 47 which was not the real track, it was a mashup between The Chase "Music is my Life" and Snap "Exterminate". Ultimix used the "Music is my Life" track as the back and the accapella of "Exterminate". When I saw the "Exterminate" CD single in the store I thought it was the same tune. I only just heard the real "Exterminate" just now and I'm damn impressed! It's basically a late 1991 style UK 'Ardkore track with breakbeats, a classic rave riff and just a real mellow feel. I'm loving this! Even the music video for the song is sexy with its use of gobos and early computer graphics. Nothing to dislike here at all! Though I will say that Ultimix did a terrible job on the remix. I find that those wedding DJ remix services actually made tunes worse rather then better. I would have avoided them but I was a noob into dance music with no way to go to NYC at that time.

Not the same feeling of old works, but still interesting. Both versions are different each other, including different arrangements. It's still Snap!, but more fine.

When Thea Austin and Turbo B left Snap!, The producers couldn't release another single out of their "Man's Return" album. So they went back in studio with Madonna's vocalist Niki Haris to re-record "Ex-Terminator", which became "Exterminate".
What can we say about the single? First, very nice sleeve by Sascha Lüönd. A colorful, futuristic pop-art concept, attractive to the eye; without the usual clichés - girls, shining sun - we might have find on the cover of a dance single.
I wasn't very pleased with the 7" version. Melodically, this is not Snap's best effort, although it was played a lot and introduced Trance to a lot of people in North America. The fake pan pipe was previously over used by Enigma two years earlier on their hits "Sadeness" and "Mea Culpa". The extended mix, not included here, can be found on the US Arista version of this single.
The A.C.11 12" mix is my favorite on this. A dark and mysterious rendition of the original, with less vocals. A similar version exists: the D.G. Mix. Remixed by Doug Laurent and Torsten Fenslau, it wasn't released properly in 1992, but was featured on their remixed "Greatest Hits" compilation in 1996.
The album version ("Ex-Terminator") is a very good track, somehow very different from what the single version turned out to be.
