Un disco magnífico, muy bien grabado, mezcla de estilos y la voz de Prince con sus variaciones de tonos y por supuesto su magníficas manos a la guitarra. Buen prensado, silencioso.

Love anything live of Prince. Was never really a fan of the One Nite Alone tour but like I said, I love anything live of Prince. Beautiful pressing which is usually hard for live shows on vinyl.

I won't talk about the sound quality but about the music here. Et je ne suis pas là pour jeter un pavé dans la mare.
In the 90's I was a big fan and collector of Prince 80's era. And still I am. I stopped enjoying his music when he started doing rap with the new power generation. 1989 lovesexy album and ist aftershows was the end of his magical times. After that I did a complete blackout with his music ,didn't like the way it took.
After all these years I was curious about this collection of 2000 aftershows and wanted to give it a try. And then ?
Of course it is still Prince , his voice, and wonderfull musicians playing and they are some good moments but something is missing. I don't feel anymore the energy and wildness of it's previews aftershow. Where is the groove ? This don't makes me feel I want to dance. This is too much ordered and wise, even the way he talks to the public (way too much and too loud) looks forced and makes me feel inconfortable.
Also the editing of the LP collection is disappointing, to much short cuts, some unnecessary pieces (what is the interest of this "Take me with you"version here for example ?)
Prince really did better. Please exhume more of its best area.

Edited one year agoAfter "Prince" released the FANTASTIC "Rainbow Children" and the very good "One Lite Alone", he preformed a ton of shows with the "NPG": "Rhonda Smith" (Bass), "John Blackwell" (Drums), "Renato Neto" (Keyboards), "Candy Dulfer" & "Maceo Parker" (Saxophones), and Trombone by "Greg Boyer"....
The result is the "One Nite Alone... Live!" sessions...
These sound ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!
Live versions of songs from "The Rainbow Children" and "One Nite Alone" are full of energy and UUMMPPP!!!!!!
The real surprise is the live versions of the Classics like, "Strange Relationship", "Do Me Baby" , "I Wanna B Ur Lover" and a host of other "Prince" Classics....
You can tell by listening to this that "Prince" was truly ready to be "Prince", but MUCH BETTER!!!! That my FRIENDS was a GIFT to us...One day I will get my hands on the Vinyl, so I can continue to drive my Wife insane!!!!!! -
I finally received this Prince Box Set and am extremely happy. 18 years ago, I seeing the original oversized box set, which has become a costly collectors item through the years. Needless to say, I’m glad I decided to wait. This ‘Up All Nite With Prince’ box set is compact with the 4 original CDs stored in durable slip cases and a nice booklet featuring many liner notes and photos. The CDs have NOT been remastered but they still sound amazing, no complaints at all. The slipcase’s artwork is also STELLAR!
As for the 2003 ‘Live at The Aladdin Los Vegas’ DVD, the video quality was garbage 17 years ago, and the Estate failed to improve things for this reissue. Oh well...smh. Could this box set be better ? Sure, and here’s what would’ve been nice to have. 1. Include a reissue of ‘The Rainbow Children’ CD, 2. Enhance the DVD, and 3. Package the set like the outstanding ‘1999 Super Deluxe’ box set.
In closing, the 2020 ‘One Nite Alone’ box is a bargain point blank, and the original box is now obsolete. My verdict....Truly essential -

My seems fine too thankfully, seeing the comments below. Agree the packaging isn't the best. But sounds great, as does the RC re-release

Listened to each of the 4 discs twice now and watched the DVD once. Recorded at a time when Prince was far from his most critically successful, the box nonetheless captures everything that made Prince such a once in a lifetime performer.
You have lengthy funk jams, inspired covers of everything from Joni Mitchell to Led Zeppelin, reworks of classics, and of course, gorgeous solo piano numbers which make up the entirety of the first disc (the cover of Case of U is worth the first disc alone). Even the stuff of Rainbow Children (concentrated on disc two) demonstrate how Prince could make some of his more lackluster studio material shine in a live setting.
Discs three and four contain a lot more “classic” Prince (and Revolution) material. Of course, it’s brilliant. As an extra treat, there are some tracks that don’t get the usual live representation (2 Nigs United 4 West Compton, Dorothy Parker are a couple that I was really excited about it particular). Perfect from front to back.
Anyone who complains about the DVD is a stick in the mud. The VHS quality isn’t quite as bad as some might try to make you believe and many of us happily put up with that level of quality for years. It is what it is and at least the sound (which is way more important in this case) is flawless. Also, you get some really outdated video production touches (the inter-song slideshows crackme up every time) and it winds up being as much of a time capsule as you could ask for. The only way it could have been better is if they actually included a VHS in the box set. And once again, there’s a track (Got a Broken Heart Again) that justifies the entire disc, if not the whole set.
Lastly, my one complaint is the packaging. The set is really generous (5 discs with individual paper sleeves and a booklet housed in a slipcase) but the fucker started falling apart on me within the first week of owning it. Slipcase AND paper sleeves. I’ll break out the super glue and it’ll be fine, but still. That’s a weak shelf life. Hopefully the booklet’s bonding doesn’t explode on me the next time I’m flipping through it.
All in all, a great set that showcases Prince teetering on the edge of Adult Contemporary (the early 2000’s were a struggle; look at Prince’s outfit and some photos of the crowd as proof), but sticking the landing like only he could. Here’s hoping we get more live material (an official release of Small Club/Live at The Hague is long overdue), but this is definitely a gift. I miss the man, but have got to hand it to his estate for putting some real time into these releases. -
Edited 4 years agoMy copy sounds amazingly pristine & audiophile. I couldn't notice a single pop or crack on any side of the 4 records - and the recording has a perfect stereo and stage balance. Pretty impressed. I always wet clean every record (with a cleaning machine) before I spin it. Maybe that's the issue with some disappointing experiences here?

I can say that after several listenings on two turntables: Sherwood bought in 2008 (with vintage amplifiler Jvc from end of 70's) and a Sony 78, the sound of 4 records is top, great vibrations and feelings, Prince is amazing artist.
