Bangles – Different Light

I'm sure this is a 1986 pressing, not a resissue as Discogs is suggestiing.

Pleasantly surprised by this pressing. Very open and the harmonies are brought forward in the mix which gives it a strong presence in the mids and highs. Bass is fine for an 80’s record

One of the best bangles albums for sure. Great classics and some surprising lesser known tracks that are as good.

Wally's name has been on quite a few pieces of vinyl. His stamp of approval is on this one ... and it's a good one. Mix on this album sounds really good.

This is a very good sounding remaster, not quite top notch. I'm splitting hairs, but to me it sounds a bit compressed. The songs themselves are catchy and irresistible.

In vinyl this is a one sided album. This edition has 'good' sound but when polar inverted it sounds 'good', too. This anomaly only occurs with CBS releases.

Nice reissue, but so much more music could have been added given the space at the end of each disc. The main album sounds good, a good remaster in my opinion. Not played the second disc yet. It's nice to see the second disc tracks on CD. I hope they sound as good as disc 1.

Really fun record, this press sounds great. Picked mine up for 7 euro's from my local record store, it has quite a few hairlines but they weren't hearable :)

Different Light was the album that The Bangles can truly say is their piece de resistance. Manic Monday, written for them by Prince, became their first Top 40 single, and the album also contained their first chart topper Walk Like An Egyptian, and the minor hits Following and If She Knew What She Wants. Everything, the follow up album, would be their last for 15 years.

Some sources say the album was released in 1985, other sources say it was released in 1986, either way, recorded in '85.

Is it just my copy or are the first couple notes of Standing In The Hallway cut off? The pick strike on the guitar strings is missing and it comes in on the second note on mine...
