The Crimson Idol is the fifth studio album by heavy metal band W.A.S.P., released internationally in 1992 through Capitol Records and on May 24, 1993 in the United States a remastered edition was reissued in 1998, containing a bonus disc of B-sides and live material from 1992. The album charted within the top 40 in five countries. It is a concept album, telling the story of the rise and fall of a fictional rock star named Jonathan Steel.

Fantastic album, good pressing.
they've had a couple of awesome releases in the early days, this one is probably the most personal Blackie delivery in his whole career.
Ambitious, maybe not perfect, not soul(less).
This pressing does justice to this underdog masterpiece.
If you dig the WASP contribution to rock music, this one is not to be missed. -

What an album….this is the best pressing by far, in my opinion. -
Copy in my hand is absolutely flat and quiet. No pops and clicks. Sound is pretty good. -

Undoubtedly, The Crimson Idol album is one of the most outstanding works in the genre of Heavy Metal. In my collection there was a place for the original Italian edition of 1992 (Parlophone) and the German reissue of 2012 (Madfish) on red vinyl. It's not often that reissues sound better than the original discs, but in this case they do. What is the problem with the Italian original? It sounds good, but has a lower volume level and a rather poor middle part of the frequency range. The 2012 re-release has a noticeably higher volume level and a balanced frequency range, making the album feel more lively and emotional. -
A complete masterpiece - love this album. Blackie was dialed in on this one. -
