The only CD out there containing the full Danny Tenaglia 18+ minute suite of Salva Mea. If Pink Floyd made stadium house modeled after "Echoes", this is what it would sound like. -
Side B is one of DT's better remixes. 'Act 2: Maxi's In Da House' is so dark, grimy, & that beat is tough as nails. Maxi's vocals slaughter this piece. Sick!

I guess Faithless – "Salva Mea" was inspired on Divenire – "Divenire (Idros Mix)": https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/release/197644-Divenire-Divenire -
Edited 2 years agoSister Bliss remix is top shelf. One of my favorites ever. The Original Epic mix is also nice, offering all the epic stops & starts of an album version, and the Tenaglia reworks are worth their weight in a different setting and time. The first two minutes of DT's Opening Drama offers some interesting, operatic/classical material that is absent from the other versions. I wish Arista put this out on CD single.

I thought Insomnia was their best song. I was proven wrong. -
Faithless - Salva Mea 2.0 (Above & Beyond Remix)
Going by the discussion below me you'd think A&B went with a big room take filled with cheap snares, in your face pitch risers, and detuned saw stabs, but those annoying trends are nowhere to be found in this remix. There's absolutely no "EDM Electro House" to be found here as far as I'm concerned. Instead what we have is a remix that stays pretty faithful (pun?) to the original mix including that old school pluck and even the acid sounds. Around 2015 A&B were doing stuff like "Sticky Fingers", this remix is far removed from the likes of /that/ sound.
Yeah it's a bit dry in atmosphere (not in audio effects or anything) and progresses in a way that could be construed as anticlimactic, but as far as I'm concerned this is a pretty solid track that I fully enjoy. Maybe it's the colour of the artwork, but it reminds me a bit of A&B's Formula Rossa; another track that's kind of "dry" and a bit anticlimactic but still very good overall.
A solid 4/5 for me.

just when you think it can't stop building... one of those epic trance tracks of the 90s. Up there with Casper Pound's remix of Two Full Moons and a Trout

What an absolute banger this is, both sides are ace. -
Edited 9 years agoI used to have respect for Anjunabeats and Above & Beyond. I was one of the first people to play "Volume 1" by Anjunabeats on the radio in the USA in 2000 and I had mad respect for them when they were a small independent label that nobody had ever heard of. But these days? They sound so watered down, they used to make actual Trance at first, then they went heavy with female vocal lead tracks in the mid 2000's, but now they are making really annoying EDM Electro House sounding stuff that sounds like every other artist out there. The type of "Trance" they make sounds more like Electro House or the typical "EDM" sound. Why ruin a classic Faithless track like this with such horrible predictable production? This "EDM" is not moving forward, the music is stagnant, there is no progression with it. Unlike the past, today's dance music is by the numbers and boring. Damn shame really.
