Soa bem, mas o lado B soa melhor que o A, o qual foi cortado muito quente. Tem distorção na última faixa de ambos os lados. Primeira vez ouvindo essa trilha sonora, muito bacana.
Sounds good, but Side B sounds better than A, which was cut too hot. There's distortion on the last track on both sides. First time listening to this soundtrack, very nice.

Can anyone comment on how this sounds? I know alot of later albums in this series (Sgt Pepper and onwards) are great sounding pressings, but I can't find anything on this.

This late career entry by the Beatles is often considered not essential. Side One has only 4 new compositions by the Beatles and they are not highly regarded. 'All Together Now' was described by McCartney as 'a throwaway.' 'Only a Northern Song' by Harrison was his way of griping about feeling exploited by the Northern Songs publishing company. It's hard to get hyped about a song when the author himself is so cynical about the song. The other two songs, previously released, 'Yellow Submarine,' and 'All You Need is Love," are not much more than catchy. Side Two is made of original orchestral compositions written by the Beatles' long-time producer George Martin, and so aren't even Beatles songs.
And yet, listening to this album recently I enjoyed it. It says a lot about the songwriting abilities of the Beatles and the high standards they had for themselves that the 4 original songs are considered afterthoughts. Each of the 4 new songs has its musical merits. Most notably, the Beatles bring the weird in the arrangements with bizarre instrumentation and sound collages. The two familiar songs sandwiching the original songs may be lightweight but they perfectly complement the overall tone. The second side of George Martin music is just pure whimsy and delightful.
My copy is this pressing. Side One was uneven. Some songs sounded excellent while others sounded as though the dynamics were off. I don't know if this is an issue with this pressing, if the strange dynamics are baked into the recordings (in-studio wackiness? Issues with remixing older songs for this album?), or perhaps a pervious owner of my disc overplayed Side One (not hard to imagine someone not flipping the disc). Side Two, on the other hand, sounded beautiful. -
I have a record that matches these identifiers in every way, including the pressing plant ID in the runout. But the matrix/runout etchings ending in G34 and G36 instead of G35 and G37 noted here. Can't find any other pressings that match that though. So ... ?

Everything about my copy is an exact match for this pressing except side 1 runout also includes A0 stamped and side 2 has AA. Anyone have any insights?

Seeing as this is a stereo fold down, has anyone done an A/B comparison to this mono release and a stereo copy (while applying a mono switch or a Y cable). I'm curious if owning the mono copy is even necessary.
Additionally I do own the mono masters -
Edited one year agoSounds very different than the UK press I have. Good and odd but different. Interesting cut. Looks like it has the same stampers from 1982 so should still be AAA. I love how every Beatles album press is different. Not many other bands like that. Pink Floyd... Zep...but not many. Also the bass is very very good on this.

This can't be a 1981 release because I have the YEX715-5 YEX716-2 release and I bought it on the 25th February 1980 and the inner sleeve is dated 1178, so that puts this release pretty firmly in 1979.
