Sounds good to me, don't really care too much who cut it since it's likely from digital if it's not being d as cut from the tape. RKS did a good job with the digital cleanup and Reeves cut it cleanly. Solid if you don't want to hunt down an original copy.

It's great to see this available again, but really poor to license it for release by Elemental a few months ago and now release it as part of this series. I'm not that impressed by the Elemental release has anyone heard them both?

Outstanding reissue. Very nice gatefold, standard quality of this series. Pressing is flat and silent.

Despite claims that the master tapes are gone, cursory research claims there’s no reason to believe they wouldn’t still be kicking. I’m starting to think this may be true because this has a certain charm to its sound seldom found in digital reissues.

Maybe it’s just that Pharaoh is THAT good, but I’ve heard bad versions of this album and this is not one.

Great reissue, done right. Flat and quiet, not the loudest. Beautiful gatefold sleeve. Mastering on point. Don’t think it’s from analog masters but it sounds great on my headphones. Amazing music!

One of my favorite jazz records… initially I was crushed VBR/TMR chose to reissue this because of how careless they had been regarding previous releases in of QC and Mastering. However! Seems as though they listened and Ryan K Smith mastered it at Sterling. Love is Everywhere

My copy crackles loudly from beginning to end, and I thoroughly cleaned it before the first spin. Heartbreaking — I'd been waiting for an affordable reissue for a very long time.

Are they doing tip-on jackets with these reissues?

Edit: No, direct to board printing confirmed. SQ is good but a bit quiet, as another reviewer said.

I've been hoping for a more modern reissue of this beautiful record. I have wanted to own this but it hasn't really seemed realistic. The only problem I have is that it's a digital recording because the tapes were lost in the fire. I only own two digital on vinyl records so I try to keep those to a minimum. However the volume on this seems pretty low. Have to crank it up a bit. And I feel like there is something missing as far as punch. I will continue to listen to this on my Wharfedale Lintons and see how I feel after a few more plays.
