Stevie Ray Vaughan And Double Trouble* – Live Alive

Here we have SRV and Double Trouble recordings from 1985/86, and this Europian reissue sounds great.

I noticed, even while listening at lower volume levels, that this pressing was nice and full on the bottom end.

I have this pressing with the exact matrix/runout codes, but it is not 180 gram. Can someone else with this same pressing ?

Comparing to my 1986 greek version, this one is more compressed and quieter, lacking some energy, probably in an effort to remove some of the original's recording distortion. It's still a good choice though, considering that the recording itself is mediocre.

120g weight record. Amazing sound. Really good pressing. Grey label with blue Epic logo.

I don't the original pressing of this album that I used to own sounding as muddy and overly distorted/loud in the mix. Not great audio quality for this Music On Vinyl pressing. I realize it's live, but it sounds poorly mixed/mastered. I may try to track down a good condition original pressing used to compare them.

It's unfortunate that SRV was having a real drug problem during these recordings. He's in good form and these are perfectly enjoyable live recordings, but it could have been something truly epic. He doesn't do that much further exploring in these renditions than he did in their studio versions, which benefit from the additional polish. The price of ission is worth the extended version of "Live Without You".

Anyone know if this is 180 gram? Or at least 150?
