Chris Isaak – Heart Shaped World

Bought brand new sealed from Amazon. My copy arrived with a lot of static (the glossed paper sleeve does not help…). The record was sticked to the sleeve, no joke! So, a lot of static noise and some few pops on both sides of the record, but it should be a lot better after a wet clean and an anti-static sleeve replacement… Pressing quality is mostly good, my copy slightly warped but is well centered. Some surface noise and vocals with borderline distortion on A5 (probably due to very tight grooves…). A few nasty pops on B4. Sound wise, it sounds pretty clean, dynamic and engaging with great presence overall. Soundstage and separation are pretty good too (“Blue Spanish Sky” is a real treat). A great album. 4.5 / 5

This pressing is a great reminder of what a vinyl record should sound like. Deep and engaging sound. Sit down, relax and enjoy!

WOW. I was about 30 seconds into side A when I realized this was something special. Detail, dynamic range, and the smoothness of Chris' vocals. The only thing it's missing is clarity in the soundstage, but it's still great for pop music.

A marvelous reissue. It sounds vital. It sounds like it has been recorded live in the studio. I love this album & maybe his best so far.
Another point to consider is that James Calvin Wilsey's guitar playing is out of this world. To my own view, irreplaceable.

My copy is flat and quiet, but pressed mildly off-center. It sounds very good, with nice, full bass. There are a few soft ticks that should respond to a cleaning.

A must own for any Chris Isaak fan. Isaak has a sound that is reflective of the past but fresh and timeless. My pressing sounds very good! Highly recommended!

I just purchased a copy here on Discogs after reading the reviews. I had heard this was a good RSD release and I agree. My copy is flat with very little surface noise. I had very little knowledge of Chris Isaac music but instantly realized I had been missing out on some great music. This is the only Chris Isaac album I own and have no idea if it would be considered the definitive copy, frankly I could care less. This pressing is an excellent sounding pressing. If you can get it for a price that you consider fair and in your budget I would purchase this album. Highly recommend!

Great sounding edition of much needed reissue. Matrix / Runout Does not match the RSD white, but sounds very good with rich deep bass / clear guitar and vocals. Good cover and inner sleeve given the price point. Buy with confidence.
