I nearly didn’t buy this after reading poor reviews about the quality, but mine is perfect, couldn’t be better.

My US copy of this album plays perfectly. Imo, this was peak Floyd. After this it was mostly downhill.

Fun fact: MCMLXXII* is the Roman numeral representation for the year 1972.
Incorrect title if recorded in the Roman Amphitheatre at Pompeii, 4-7 October 1971 ?

*It combines the values of M (1000), CM (900), L (50), X (10), and II (2) to total 1972.

Mine sounds great for the most part after a good cleaning. Some ticks and pops here and there that won’t go away but not too bad. Both records are slightly dished. Not enough to return. I’m honestly tired of 180 gram double records. Just give me regular good sounding single Lp’s. The thicker records suffer from warping and issues far too often. I have records from the 70’s that are thin and flimsy but sound absolutely incredible! The extra thickness is nothing but an extra hassle

I think some people are overreacting in saying the EU/UK pressing is better. I’d like to say that there’s absolutely 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 wrong with my U.S. pressing. It plays perfectly without even cleaning it first. The sound quality is phenomenal and loud with no surface noise. Zero complaints.

Noisy, but I haven't cleaned it yet. Hope it sounds better after it's cleaned and vacuumed.

Finally, an official vinyl release of Pink Floyd at Pompeii — and it sounds absolutely spectacular. Steven Wilson has worked his usual magic here: the mix is stunningly detailed, with a massive improvement in overall clarity and presence. Nick Mason’s drums, in particular, have never sounded this good — punchy, dynamic, and full of life. This pressing is a must-have for any Floyd collector or audiophile. Simply unmissable.

Such a historical document of musical history. Such a good pressing. Such a beautiful design.
