Still a few new copies floating around. Excellent compilation and one of the best releases of the 90s. Worth seeking out even at after-market prices!

The pressing is simply perfect.
I love this album - with the exception of u2 all artists provided a new and unreleased song to fit the spirit and topic of the movie. While im not a big fan of the film (and wenders cinema in general), this soundtrack is astonishing. All tracks are comparable to the best production of each artist. My personal favourites here are the contributions from nick cave, rem and julee cruise.
5 stars. -
Edited one year agoI picked this up on a whim when ordering an old european CD copy of Jesus Christ Superstar and wanted to get something else to offset the higher shipping. This was only 1 or 2 euros, so took a gamble.
Great CD. Even though this German edition is missing two songs (from the US edition), it is still an excellent mix of songs.
The order of the songs is also a bit different than the other version with the dreadful album cover (which looks like a hype sticker that turned into an album cover?).
I guess now I should look up the movie to watch. -
Excellent reissue of this wonderful out-of-print soundtrack. I saw this film in the theater during its initial run in the US in 1991 and over the years, the music still resonates so deeply with me. I am happy that they pressed this with the original score music by Graeme Revell. I only wish it included the mix of Peter Gabriel’s “Blood of Eden” that was also used in the film during the sequence where they are flying into the outback.

If Carlsberg did soundtracks, this would probably be it :)
Anyone know if there is a version with the Peter Gabriel - Blood of Eden track on it ?? -
I can’t tell you how damn happy I am to have this. I had been looking off and on for a 2 LP version of it that contained all the songs as opposed to the single LP versions that only some of them. It is a fantastic pressing. I have been listening to this soundtrack for 30 years and know each song inside and out but I heard details and instruments in damn near all of them I had never heard before. Listening to it for the first time has been one of my greatest listening experiences of the past couple of years.

Strange that this version leaves off the U2 song for which the film is named. -
One of the best compilations that I know off. Different types of early 90s music yet very cohesive together as an album. And the vinyl dynamics are sublime.

Edited 3 years agoOne of the best soundtracks of the 90s.
One thing I'm trying to track down is the "soundtrack version" of U2's "Until The End Of The World" (which has a different intro and edit after the second verse) featured here: https://youtu.be/8md8py8yVxY
When listening to the streaming versions of the soundtrack here in the US, the Achtung Baby version is what is included. Checking run times, it looks like the soundtrack version is four seconds shorter than the album version. Any ideas?
