Notes
McCartney (1970) is the debut solo album by Paul McCartney. Apart from Linda McCartney's vocal contributions, McCartney performed (and recorded) the entire album solo. Originally released in UK on 17 April, 1970, and in the U.S. on 20 April, 1970. The album was reissued on 13 June, 2011, as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.
The album was recorded from late 1969 to March 1970 in London at McCartney's home in Cavendish Avenue (December 1969), at Morgan Studios in London (from 10 to 20 February 1970, under the pseudonym "Billy Martin"), and at Abbey Road Studios in London (from 21 February to mid-March 1970).

amazing album. full of feeling. the listening is exceptional. dynamic, precise, wide, detailed and clean. I've never listened to another version except streaming and I don't know if there is a better one, but it really seems like a bomb to me. -

This vinyl that is over fifty years old still sounds fantastic. -
Sounds pretty good, like most Canadian pressings. I would love to nail down a year for this pressing, though. I am assuming around 1980? -
Great press!!! Has a sound separation, and great dynamics. Recommended -
Sorry to say this is not a thousand pound McCartney record and is intact a £4 country and western,which is backed up by a united artists matrix number on that A side. I was fooled too.

My copy has the lamination on the cover peeling off just like the one pictured here. Still looks good though and love the black Parlaphone labels. Great flat deep quiet pressing, mine is NM and sounds outrageous, especially in headphones where you can really hear the "homemade" nature of the recordings. Great version of this seminal LP, def grab it if you ever find one in the wild. -
Edited 7 months agoFor the Beatles' solo outputs; this, along with JL's Plastic Ono Band and GH's All Things Must would be the ones to have in your collection. Just my .02.
This album is a nice n' light banger all the way through.
This is the particular version I own. It sounds great, even though its in rougher shape than I'd like. This copy was purchased new by a family member, ed on to another family member, then to my dad, and finally to me. -
does anyone have a year on this issue? I cannot seem to find anything. It sounds amazing -
My copy appears to match this version except my runout stamps differ than what's listed.
My copy's Side A says "STAO-1-3363 Z11 #1 STERLING LH 0" (which is listed here as a Side B variant).
Side B says "STAO-2-3363 Z10 #2 STERLING LH 0" (which is listed here as a Side A variant). -
