More photos of this would be great if anyone has any? -
It's a disgrace that these remixes and a load of 7" mixes were omitted from the SDE of the debut album

Amazing this is selling at around £100 for a decent copy nowadays. I think I've played my copy once since I bought it from HMV in Manchester over 28 years ago! I'd never have guessed back then it would end up at these prices second hand, it's heading towards the price the So Young/Tell Me 12" goes for....wow.

Thanks for the nice comments, I still have the multitrack! perhaps I'll have another crack at it :) - Simon Harris

Edited 5 years agoDon't listen to the haters. My favourite Roses single. The drum solo alone in the Simon Harris remix is excellent. Even the bongo's kicking in and up towards the end. Love it. The only full length version of this mix. The CD cuts it at 5:40 so you are missing the best part.
I find myself going back to this LP time and again. It is quality. Very pleased I managed to get a decent copy.
For those moaning about the price? The price reflects demand gentlemen. Music has always been subjective. -
everyone slagging off the shit remix complaining about the sound needs a lesson in loudness, this twelve features the album mix cut properly, not at the end of a pissy album

For completist collectors only, the tracks that are only available on this release are not worth having. They are that poor. The LP version doesn't need a cowbell and louder bass drum dubbed over the top. These edits just sound cheap. The Fools Gold mixes however, are great and are available on other releases.

Edited 9 years agoGod, but this "dub" version is terrible. It exhibits an almost hilariously rhythmless (mis)understanding of dub. The vocals are cut in and out in what would seem to be a nearly random manner—except that it's so clumsy and artless it must be intentional. Truly random cuts would actually be better than this. This mix comes across as a halfhearted last-minute Simon Harris studio burp to fill a B-side. Given that this was 1992 and record labels were, at the time, cramming up to four formats of singles with exclusive b-sides (so as to entice fans to buy all of them and send the single up the charts), there's a good chance that I'm correct. Stone Roses fans, you don't need this. I noticed there's a version up on YouTube, have a listen...if you'd like to waste three minutes of your life. I wonder how much Harris got paid by Silvertone to do this? No wonder the band hated that record label. Hahaha.
