Sadly some on some quite parts there's complete silence sometimes. As if someone put gate and it doesn't reach the threshold so it's completely silent.

Mine sounds amazing to me. Have nothing to compare to but I am very happy with paying retail for this gem of a album.
currently heard one pop but that's likely due to something on the grooves. -

GREAT sounding copy. Buy with confidence. It’s just as good as MOV’s “Ghost Reveries” and “Watershed” releases. MOV have yet to disappoint me. -

My copy sounds excellent. Zero issues here. Ignore the MOV haters and listen for yourself. Great soundstage and excellent separation. Maybe they need better equipment. -

This is the worst Music On Vinyl release in my collection. A usually reliable quality…not on my copy. Way to much background static and noise throughout. -

People complaining about the sound on this one need to have their ears checked. Whisper quiet after an ultrasonic bath, excellent mix, and it looks beautiful. I suspect a lot of people saying this is inferior to the 2011 press are just trying to protect their investments. -

I received my copy today (number 3374) but I have two times the vinyl record 1 (sides A & B). Anyone has this problem? -

I have two first pressings of this album. While the first pressing has depth and sounds 3D-like, this sounds more 2D - narrow, with a weird choice of EQ. The MID frequencies is drawn back. There is a bit too much low frequencies, which is pretty common for MOV releases. If you don't want to shed out a $100 /€100 on an original pressing, this one is just fine and you will survive.
For those of you who own the first pressing. Listen how much more clear, natural and open the drums sound. It is quite big difference.
Why Mikael Åkerfeldt or his label wanted MOV to ruin a perfectly sounding album is beyond me. He could have engaged a better company and engineer.
