Such a shame that this single never got a vinyl release!! Along with many other vespertine singles... -

My Bjork Favourites (just considering single releases) change with time: Hyperballad, All Is Full of Love, Triumph of a Heart because it is so joyfull / fun, Who Is It, Vitalic Mix, same reason . . . Where Is the Line, Soft Pink Truth Glow Stick Museum Remix, same reason ! ! ! ! . . . Bjork is often joyful and fun : )
But Pagan Poetry has a special place. Firstly because it is a truly exalting musical experience continually hitting a 'level' height throughout the song. Then secondly because of the lyrics and the particular word "pagan" - pagan is a good word for Bjork and beautifully used in the song. It's great Bjork expresses her strong connection with Earth so well.
I generally love remixes, exploring alternative potentials for a song, but the below mentioned Infusion mix of Pagan Poetry doesn't hit it for me. Sad fact: Pagan Poetry was produced during the time when vinyl was almost dead - so it was never officially released on vinyl. -

I heard this remix for the first time while I was sitting in the Bar de Boeddha in Delft where it was played as a part of Paul Oakenfold's "Great Wall" DJ Mixes and immediately after I came home, I started searching a copy online. I'm really glad that I found one of these (limited to 1000) records for an affordable price on Ebay, after keeping an eye out for it for some weeks (unfortunately all rr1000 releases are quite hard to find).
A very atmospheric recording. The perfect chill-out music. If you can't find (/afford) the vinyl, get Oakenfold's CD Sampler on Amazon, it's the second track on the second "Perfecto" CD and this track alone makes the mix well worth buying. -

I was given the hard sell on this one by a friend of a friend who runs a very cool record shop in London's Soho - I went there to buy something else entirely. I strapped on the cans, sat down on a comfy bar stool and listened to the music pouring into my ears. This is a beautiful track by anyone's standard, and although I have never been a massive fan of Bjorks work, there is something in this record that draws you in and it just works so so well.
Haunting, atmospheric, gorgeous, moody, just plain brilliant - it's difficult to sum up a song of this quality using any one word...but if I had to try, it would probably be this one. Essential.

Yet another great bootleg from the RR1000 label, this time Austraila's Infusion ("Star Water...Its Allright"/ Hold that Body mixes)
does a massive progressive breaks remix of Bjork's latest single. Very atmospheric and breezy production will have fans of Way Out West and Ashtrax going nuts.
