How has this never been released on vinyl? For a band with so many vinyl releases it’s really odd. Someone at Duophonic really needs to get the rights to this and release this on vinyl finally - pretty please :)

Edited 19 years agoI was introduced to Stereolab by a mate after he put one of their songs on a tape for me many years ago. The song was the fantastic "Super Electric", the opening song on this album. After years of only having this one song on cassette I finally got round to picking up this album and I'm glad I did.
It's very hard to pick out individual tracks as there are so many brilliant songs. I love the mixture of crisp guitars, nice synths and the gorgeous female vocals. I can't say I understand a word she's saying most of the time but then I don't care when the music is this good. She has such a lovely voice that it doesn't really matter. I just saw a picture of the lady in question here at discogs - PHWOAR!! She's rather tasty!
What I love most about this band is their "joie de vivre". They have a really happy sound and have a knack for coming up with some sublime yet almost infantile melodies. Some of these ditties wouldn't sound out of place on children's TV. Stereolab definitely have their own distinctive sound, a certain "je ne sais qoui".
Great music if you need some sunshine on a rainy day. Bonne!
