Duran Duran – Danse Macabre

Somehow I didn't want to get into this album after seeing so many cover versions...but in the end it's great and I really like it. The sound is great too. The pressing via GZ concerns is fine and plays clean after the first wash. I recommend it.

My copy (purchased used) had 4 stickers and a wristband included. Nothing in the notes on Discogs about it, so I wasn't sure if they are from another source. The 4 stickers are black square with white symbols. The wristband is also black has the 4 corresponding sybmbols flanking the band and album name.

Haven't listened to the main album yet as I already have an original copy from 2023, but am really disappointed with the bonus disc. Big scuff across Spooky on Side A, plus audible clicks and pops throughout both sides. Hoping an ultrasonic cleaning will help or else I'll be fighting with the DD webstore about a replacement.
EDIT:
The Duran Duran store responded and said "we are unable to create a replacement for just the bonus vinyl portion of the box set as it comes in a set. As such, our management has confirmed that they will process a refund for the box set."
But if anyone is still looking for the vinyl exclusive tracks from this set and doesn't want to spring for this boxset to get them, they will be available as a Zoetrope disc for Record Store Day in April.

Something that isn’t mentioned in the press release, the booklet in the DeLuxe Edition Box Set has the four band autographs on the second to last page.

This sounds better than the 45rpm record. Buy this. I have both. Trust me.

First the good.
Andy plays in almost all the tracks. So this album feels Duran Duran pre Notorious days.
It’s good.
Tracks are fresh despite a few covers. Love Voodoo sounds great.
Smog LP is gorgeous.

The not so good.
The LP is warped.
Mastering so so.
Could use better separation.
Honestly. I think the streaming is better.

The 5.1 surround mix folds down to any excellent 24/48 stereo mix that sounds so much better than the actual 24/96 mix.
