I found this in the charity shop today and bought it based purely on the cool-looking sleeve, and after listening I'm seriously impressed! Such an iconic acid line, and my favourite mix is the "Omen Mix"... relentless and futuristic, yet not overstaying its welcome! An otherworldly jam for sure!

It was the soundtrack of '88 raves. With its infectious energy made it stand out at the time. Sadly, it also got caught up in a critical ITV documentary about the rave scene, which put a damper on things.

considering so many tracks on each side, plus being coloured vinyl - it doesn't sound too bad, although you need to boost it up by 2db to get it in line with anything else you're mixing it with -
This is a weird record. Sounds like a shit cover version of Stakker Humanoid incorporating 1992 euro pop rave elements. Says it is "Mixed and Re-Produced by 3 Steps 2 Heaven". This is very different from the Humanoid 92 released on Jumpin & Pumpin the same year. I suggest you get that and don't bother with this one.

Very few ever noticed that this track samples a short snippet of Stevie Wonder's "Race Babbling", both are great pieces, from a different realm and time.

I'm pretty sure that this is actually a Dutch release not UK. I never saw this in any London shop when it came out but was delighted to find this (along with Royal House - Can You Party & Beat Club - Security) on CD on a trip to Amsterdam in early '89. -
Edited 3 years agoThis record has bumps all over it, however they do not affect play.
i own this record. If you like techno that's not too hard core. Get it !!! -
Edited 4 years agoI believe this is where "acid" kicks off "rave" as a music style splitting off from the house and garage spawning hardcore and anything "ravey" after it and feel privileged to own a copy of this on a promo.

Great sound quality on this reissue, and possibly the best way to get the awesome Smart Systems remix on vinyl. -

I purchased this record, because someone wrote in the info (now corrected),
that on side B there would be the Smart Systems Remix of "Stakker humanoid",
which unfortunately is not true.
In reality it's the original version of Humanoid - "Stakker humanoid" from 1988.
