This six disc Vinyl Box Set is pretty much the best way to hear “...Blackhawk...” in it’s “complete form and performance order”—unedited, in all it’s glory (the original double vinyl release does not do this legendary performance any justice). The mix has a pretty clean and tightly centered stereo sound, with the character (clapping and hollering, drinks clanging) of the venue still intact. Yup, on vinyl, or on any other format really, this is the way to experience those wonderful Friday and Saturday nights way back in the early Spring of 61’.
