My copy had a lot of hair shavings in it, which was probably not intentional, but it freaked me out when i saw the inserts with hair printed on them -

I bought this nice album in July 2021 from Hello Merch for $10 USD. Sometime in 2022 they jacked up the price to $24.99. Similarly, I bought two Death Grips shirts from Hello Merch in 2021 for $18 USD each. The prices were increased to $25 in 2022, and now they cost $30 each. Typical greed. -

This has been a gem in my collection for over 12 years and I'm just now offering some input after seeing Nick Reinhart open for and play with Pinback. I wish he did more with Zach Hill (feel the same about Rob Crow and the Ladies). This pressing is fine for what it is because the recording doesn't seem to be top notch and it's trashy sounding to begin with, but this is still loads of fun. Total roller coaster at the right volume. Doubt this will ever see a repress, as it was a one-off project and never heard from again, so if you're a fan of these guys GET IT NOW. -

It's a good album for Zach Hill fans! ... but in my opinion, the sound of vinyl is a bit flat :/ -

I consider this a huge hidden gem in both Zach Hill and Nick Reinhart's discographies. Leaning more towards the art pop sound Zach achieved on Face Tat and the general vibe of Nick's Tera Melos, the two combine here for an explosive bit of loud, somewhat abrasive, but always catchy tracks. Never too mathy to seem overwrought but never too simple to seem pedantic, it combines the best parts of the two into a really fucking good record and hits a high note of collaboration between them.
They later did a hardcore EP under this same name (the Spiritual Bankruptcy EP) that is also great, but a different vibe. But I don't think any collab between these two since have hit the sweet spot this album did, despite later efforts being nothing to dismiss. The highlight for me would have to be "Not What It Is But What It’s Not", with some really spidery, upbeat verses that lead into an euphoric pre-chorus and hook that will get stuck in your head for days! -
