Excellent pressing. Loud, punchy drums, clean sounding with crisp highs.

How did anyone else's cassette holding back ?
Mine squeaks so hard in my deck I can hear it in my speakers. Cannot listen to album anymore.

Here we have a really good album by Bob Dylan from 1981 and sounds great. I think that this is one of top 10 Bob Dylan albums. The recording, production, and pressing are great.

Critical musical assessment needs to be value free – the Staple Singers or Sam Cooke singing gospel? Universally praised. Bob Dylan praising the lord – wheel out the old “traitor” trope! Bob’s not trying to convert you here – he’s the same old master storyteller grappling with the contradictions of life & revealing his joy at his own new-found “truth”.

Don’t let narrowminded critics who abhor the un-hip Christian overtones colour your judgement here – okay, it’s not Highway 61 Revisited but this is an overlooked rocky loose imioned heartfelt well produced R&B LP in BD’s canon with a host of name checked superb backing musos adding to the soulful emotion. Like Dylan going electric - this is Dylan going Christian - and neither was a bad thing!
BD back to his fascinating best.

I'm a huge fan of all 3 Dylan "Born Again" LPs. (not a huge fandom vs other Dylan eras)
This is the Stax/Muscle Shoals style LP of the trilogy. My favorite of the trilogy.

My copy has a PC on the label and side B etched runout is BL 37496 G2D. Everything else is the same.

not a huge fan of this album but the pressing is good, so if u r a fan of "christian" dylan, definetly recommended

Wanting to hear Dylan's albums sounding their best, I sought out this title which didn't get "remastered" until 30 years after the fact. Sadly, I heard NO discernable difference between the content of this "remaster" and the original release! In disbelief, I ripped both titles and compared wave forms in editing software. The two rips were impossible to tell one from the other, with identical peaks/valleys occupying the exact same dynamic range throughout as previously, and no other customary evidence of modification. Even the same handful of tracks slightly stronger on the left channel remained the same. If you have a playable CD of an older pressing, don't bother to seek this out. If there were ANY kind of tweaking done here, it is an extremely miniscule EQ treatment that normal ears won't detect and which don't visibly affect the wave form.
