Can someone share please how this pressing is like and if there's any other recommended pressing? I own this album on a German cd from the late 80's and I wonder if this vinyl would be an improvement...Thanks!

Sound isn't perfect: a little bit "telephon-like. But no defects and good sleeves.

The music is five stars, but the noisy vinyl (crackles and pops after anti-static brush and multiple wet brush cleanings) and horrendous red-line mastering only earn 1 star from me. Also, my stereo system is set up to lean warm when necessary, but even then, it doesn't obscure that this release has been mastered hot (mids and highs are distorted, harsh, and sonically fatiguing). I'm rating this a 2-star press. What a shame for such beautiful music and my $35. Verve dropped the ball with this one, it's one of the worst sounding records in my collection.

I'll be honest. I love this mono pressing, and I love Bill Evans. This is a mostly great album, but I will say that the novelty of the two different piano tracks overlayed on top of each other does at times seem like two different songs going on at once, which gets tired on the ears. I more prefer his playing on Everybody Digs...but this is still a worthy listen. But I would not pay 20+ dollars for this unless you're a serious Bill Evans collector.

To the sole Discogger who owns this EU public domain ish, pray tell how does it sound? Could it be any worse than the more recent, bashed reissues by Verve/Universal?

This recording sounds way too hot. Especially side A with distortion.

It's not my favorite Bill Evans, but I think it's a lot of fun. I think you MUST listen to this album through headphones, at least once... It brings the three Bills together in a way that listening through spread-out speakers just can't reproduce!

Received my copy today, and quite disappointed. Sound quality from this pressing is quite weak and unclear even without any cracks nor pops. Not very much recommendable.

I'm quite disappointed to pressing quality in this one. Side A contains cracks and pops which are clearly audible even without headphones on. Side B is not that bad but similiar cracks do exist. I have a mint copy without any visible marks on record itself. Beyond this particular release I've been happy with other releases in the Verve 60 series. I really hope that I just had bad luck and received a bad copy.
