Notes
Garbage is the debut studio album by American rock band Garbage, released on August 15, 1995 by Mushroom Records. The album was met with critical acclaim and was viewed by some journalists as an innovative recording for its time. It reached number 20 on the US Billboard 200 and number six on the UK Albums Chart, while reaching the top 20 and receiving multi-platinum certifications in several territories. The album's success was helped by the band promoting it on a year-long tour, including playing on the European festival circuit and ing the Smashing Pumpkins throughout 1996, as well as by a run of increasingly successful singles culminating with "Stupid Girl", which received Grammy Award nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group in 1997.

This pressing offers everything I love about a good vinyl record. It's loud, lively, dynamic, punchy... it even gives you that "band plays in your room" feeling. Yet I still prefer the 20th anniversary edition of this album because they actually managed to improve the sound in my opinion. It's much clearer & balanced whereas this OG pressing can sound quite muffled in comparison (not every song does though). So both pressings have their advantages & disadvantages & I love spinning them both, depending on my mood. -
I just love this pressing. Can't believe I say this but I think I might like this more than my original UK copy, even though it's not as loud & punchy. The remastering is stellar, and usually I'm not very fond of remasters. But I think they actually managed to improve the overall sound... It's much clearer, more balanced & the bass is (almost) as prominent as on the 1st pressing. As many have said before the packaging is great (even though I prefer the original artwork, there are little differences), and the pink records look great too. Guess this is my go-to copy.

Edited one month agoYep, nothing wrong with this pressing - surprised that it was a gatefold and nothing wrong with the sound quality, full and dynamic. Lovely printed artwork inners (not static-proof).
A niggle personally would be they could have changed up the colour of the centre labels for the second LP to make it look different as it is just a copy of the first LP's inner labels. It's. great pressing. I can't really notice a difference between this and the original CD but get this pressing it's great and certainly a lot better than the sadly over compressed CD version from 2015.

The vinyl remaster sounds incredible, but the CD just sounds like it has been compressed further (and certainly the waveform of the 2015 "remaster" vs the original shows that it has been brick-walled), which is a shame because the packaging and vinyl version are great.

I don't agree with the other reviews here--this release sounds fantastic! Huge low end, without taking anything away from the mid and high end.
I have the UK original pressing and the 2015 vinyl reissue, but this version is now my go-to LP. -
