referencing Split Album (LP, Limited Edition, Reissue, Orange Translucent w/ Purple Splatter) XM 365 LP
The photos on here look modified with the brightness raised. If they weren't modified afterwards then the camera was doing it automatically as the photos were taken.
In reality, the cover is very dark... all the other xtreeme records reissues have had great quality reproductions, and their demo series had the best scans we've ever seen of the original artworks, but this one... its gamma/brightness is too low. -
THis CD sounds so shrill and thin. The Altar's side is almost unbearable. Wonder how the 2xCD remaster sound...

Edited one year agoA solid reissue of these murky old scandinavian albums. The pressing seems fine. A little lower quality on the cover but it seems pretty weird on the original from what I can tell. The sound is good just know the production is somewhat more raw than most of this type of music.
1 Finnish and 1 Swedish
The Swedish album which is Altar is a good example of an album that isn't reliant on the Sunlight/Skogsberg sound and it shows in the production too which can be a little rough but still perfectly clear. An early production from Dan Swano. He provided a few backing vocals too. It features some cool piano and atmospheric parts as well.
Cartilage I believe is the better offering on the split. It sounds a little better in production in my opinion and just has that classic Finnish sound. It isn't top tier and if you don't own Sentenced or Demigod, Funebre or more of the classics then you should go there first. This is a good little album in that style though. -
