I have a copy with one side has the gripper ring and one side does not, does that make it rarer?

Not on 1st September 1979. The Sounds magazine of the 11 August 79 put an advert for the launch of this single. The first and the last Madness single on two-tone records label.

Entered chart at number 74 on 1st September 1979, must have been released earlier.

Not sure how clear this listing is as it contains 2 images that vary from one another - one which is stamped 2 Tone Records (which is less common and therefore usually has a higher value) and the other which is stamped Chrysalis Records. The stamp is below (C) 1979 and (P) 1979), both have made in England stamped on them and in fairness it's a damn fine tune anyhow whichever version you have.

I have a copy of this, but with completely different stampings in the run-out areas - does anyone know if they're simply variations or another pressing?

Everything else is exactly the same, silver injection label, but with large centre hole. If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd be very grateful!

Love this 7" as the recordings are totally different then on the album. Like demo outtakes. This is the real, original Madness I love!
