Arcade Fire – Funeral

Very good pressing (although there was a lot of static before cleaning). Not the most demonstrative mix with a fairly centered sound and few effects.

I think the Spotify version sounds lusher and more awake than this pressing. Unfortunate

Really good in my opinion. Some are saying it is flat sounding, and I don't disagree. However, their Suburbs LP is similar in soundstage, and I think this is just how they want their LPs to sound. I'm not trying to be flippant when I say this, but turning the volume up louder than normal fixes the problem. My copy was also very quiet in the background

Such a great album, but I never listened to it because the 2017 repress is awful. This one is the one you want - not audiophile, but decent dynamics and much more natural sounding (if that makes sense).

This sounds fantastic. No issues with it whatsoever. It's a full analog production that lends itself to the format. Mine is flat, noise free, dynamic and clean.

Regarding the album itself, this is a ridiculous debut album. I've been amazed for over two decades that something this powerful is how a band introduced themselves to the world.

Very smooth sounding RTI pressing. Mine came with the same poly pinkish inner sleeve as some other RTIs in my collection such as the Miles Davis mono reissues.

So here’s the deal. I was expecting this to be terrible reading the reviews. But honestly, my pressing is pretty quiet and almost perfect. As far as the mastering goes, this album was mixed and mastered with vocals in the background, instruments up front and very little soundstage. I would tend to think that that was the esthetic it was going for. Whatever format you listen to this album on, it cannot be changed unless this gets a remix. So is this a good pressing? Yes. Is this a good mix and master? It’s just how the album sounds so deal with it. Is this worth getting? Yes. And in my honest opinion, the record sounds better then on digital formats.

Hi folks, does anyone why the 2005 and 2009 pressings are so similar. Is there anything aside from the barcode that makes them in anyway different? I am about to buy a 2005 version (or at least the seller thinks it is) but wanted to see if anyone knows for sure the differences. Both the 2005 and 2009 appear to have either blue or brown labels. Anyone know which is which? The pictures on the discogs 2005 are confusing. Any and all thoughts welcome. The issue is that in the notes listed above for 2005 and 2009 "Golden" run offs appear the same.

Music itself, the mastering, as good as this album is gonna sound. GZ pressing plant strikes again with bad QC. No fill, loud pops and clicks, noisy (after a vacuum clean). Playing on my Technics SL-D2, Pro-ject tube preamp, Phillips Fidelio headphones.

Love this. Great album. Quiet pressing. Good soundstage. Maybe not 5 stars of dynamic range, but 5 starts everywhere else. So 5 overall.
