I received it as packing material and decided to check it out. Not my style but, postmangerry seems to really enjoy it.

Decent pressing but a side is in mono (1D matrix). Wonder what happened here?

I have a somewhat crunchy VG of this with mono white label and the music powers through any noise to make it a very pleasant listen. I would love to find a clean one but these appear to be very rare. Worth it even if a bit noisy. That much stronger and vibrant than the standard stereo which is not bad.

I have found it very difficult to find a 1st press that either wasn’t messed up from abuse or had nonfill issues. The music itself and vibrance of it are exceptional. There are plenty out there but the condition … just found a decent mostly VG+ Pitman 1A /1A (this one) and am mostly pleased. I had even tried the most recent remastered vinyl (which is hard to find - out of print) before this just to get a clean copy but did not find it to have the freshness or kick of this original.

Oops - check that above. Found two hard skips in the middle of the song “Texas”. Hard deep skips which make the tone arm shake and skips on all three of my tables with different cartridges and after three washings. Well, the search is back on … but that which did not skip sounded pretty good. Ugh.

One of the better pressings of this album. Buddy Miles is great on this album

It sounds like Cream with a horn section. Worth buying if you like psychedelic blues.

The recording might not have been the best but this pressing perfectly showcases the masterclass musicianship of Mike Bloomfield's guitar skills and Buddy Miles' drums with the latter heavily foreshadowing what would be his time with the Band Of Gypsies almost 2 years later. This album kicks ass.

Good clean pressing! MOV always comes through on their vinyl quality. I have had trouble finding a clean original although originals are readily available. This sounds fairly vibrant and clean and without the noise issues I have found locating a good original. If you can find this at a reasonable price I would suggest you buy it. It was easier said than done for me.

Anybody else's copy of this one have a black/charcoal marbled look to the vinyl?
Looks a bit like a smoky haze with dark pockets when viewed at just the right angle.

Probably an experimental composition concocted to dilute the vinyl after the 70's energy crisis.
