Boards Of Canada – Music Has The Right To Children

My copy came with BOTH black "repress" sticker (stuck to shrink) and braille sticker (stuck to sleeve).

Basically bought sound unheard. Might have tuned into a minute of Boards of Canada on youtube here and there over the years. Never really understood what was going on. Expected it all to be a lot more lofi than it turned out to be. The album sounds very well produced really. Doesn't seem like a couple of guys in a garage on a 4 track cassette portastudio. I mean it might be, I'm not sure. But it sounds good. So I didn't know what to expect really and when I first put the records on didn't know what to make of it. Turns out its some kind of drug music. It has that repetitive feel suitable for people tripping on pot to organize their thought so as not to fall off the edge of reality too far. Not sure the very present sounding drum track setup with the subdued pad sounds really work for me every time, but if I'm ever catatonic on the terrors of pot I'm sure the drums will be something I can securely tether myself to so as not to lose what's left of my mind. The children's voices popping out like little imps when you least expect it lend the album a creepiness that I'm sure would not only have me latching myself securely to the aforementioned foundational bedrock of the drum track...but would have me hugging those drums for all I'm worth just in case my steel and aluminum carabiners melted in front of my face and sent me spiraling out of all hope into some abyss with eyes studying my every move as I fall...and fall...and fall...and fall...

Was listening to this press just now and it just hit me how good this thing sounds. Mastered beautifully, barely any surface noise, no distortion or muddiness. This is just superb on all fronts.

incredible pressing, dead silent and sounds wonderful. only complaint is that the sleeve feels a little... waxy? almost sticky to the touch. not a fan of that.

I seeing this in a vintage market in Seattle around 2015-16 for around $45 (it was for sure the original pressing) but I was a broke teenager so it slipped me by. Ah the could've beens

Everything here matches the version I have, but mine didn't come with a code. I bought mine new/sealed.

I can't get over how good this pressing is. It is DEAD quiet, gives the ambience tons of room to expand. Sounds incredible. Don't need to tell you how good of an album this is. To me, this is the best way to experience BoC. Just seismic.

This pressing sounds very, very, very good. Buy this before it gets expensive.
