Unfortunately this is a reissue, some geeza on Ebay was trying to flog this to me as if it was they original press. He all like oh its the original it's just the uk version, bla bla bla.
No idea idea if it's good or not?
But you can get a 1971 Prestige press from Europe so I took a chance and luckily the EU press was all good ahd stands up to my 70's USA records (a lot of the European prrssees were great in the 70's to be fair)
Just dropping this info here incase someone mislabelles this and somewhere, and it having no year throws you off. It's a repress - again no idea if it's good or not as for around the same price there are other 70's presses from the original label that are absolutely fabulous and so why go here? -

The 1971 Prestige version is good, even the euro versions.
They obviously flew a copy of the master plates over and specified they exact vinyl material substance mix to the pressers.
Good stuff! I don't trust the 72 on a different lable tbh, but I havnt tried it so who knows.
I love a good 70s press man!
This one I think would be indistinguishable from a USA copy, and the euro versions were probably what were actually sampled for the Kool Is Back breakbeat in the 90's rave breakbeats scenes.
All over this is an absolute steal for an iconic 1970s record with a legendary breakbeat on it. -

as discribed and well packed thanks will buy from again -
Oh my oh my. An album that lives up to its name, im kicking myself for not hearing it until my tea total'd late 30s.... my cheeba tokin 20yr old self would be buggin out! This just sounds gigantic and the soloing on the BB King cover is just eargasmic level.
Deserves a half decent budget system but anything from that onwards allows this to fill a room stunningly.
This is why record collecting/listening is a most addictive and satisfying pastime! -

Some say that the sampled drums and "horn stab" in "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes (1983) come from the track "Kool Is Back." An early example of a sample. -

Funk Inc LP - 'Kool Is Back' provides a top cover version of Kool & The Gang. 'Bowlegs' is the serious instrumental work out, congas, hammond organ and heavy latin funk flavour bassline. A must have Lp even just for 'Bowlegs'. 8.5 / 10
