Fantastic tunes, excellent production and loud pressing (not noisy..) It really comes to life on my set up at home and I’d imagine on a good large system in a club would sound even better

A lovely time capsule of quite possibly the best era for r & b/dance music, lovingly remixed by THE DJ of this era, Larry Levan.
In my opinion, every one of these mixes beats the LP mixes by Steven Stanley.
I hear that all these tracks were staples at the Paradise Garage...judging from the response at current reunion parties, I would have to agree.

The cd issue has even MORE tracks, some of which were previously unreleased.

I have this cd. I don't think it was mastered from vinyl, however it is a bit boomy in the low end.

The UK release is cut about 2% faster than the US release.

This is the definitive Paradise Garage record. The tracks flow into each other with incredible ease. Each one brilliant in itself and even better as a collection. In my opinion this is the peak of Larry Levan's brilliance as a mixer and an impressario. Gwen Guthrie's voice is perfect, never over-stated diva yet always smooth and soulful. Whenever there is a reunion party the hoots and hollers from the crowd are thunderous for any one of these tracks. If I could rate it 5+ I gladly would.
