What else can i say. This was created more than 30 years ago and sounds more current and cutting edge than a lot of techno which is comming nowadays. Just basic channel…

Mind-boggling that both the Lyot Maurizio mix and Lyot Rmx are so utterly essential - though back in 1994 I only knew (and loved and still do) the Maurizio mix as it was on a Tresor comp I think, not buying vinyl meant missing out on many many classics!

My first Basic Channel I bought and after that I was caught in the cosmos of the basic channel universe.
The Phylyps Rmx is my favourite Basic Channel track. Calm and is like a warm blanket.
          Essential!

The Lyot remix is probably the greatest Basic Channel 12".

Still love hearing Lyot rmx at 1 or 2 in the morning on my headphones since I got it many years ago. Such deep, dubby greatness. The Phylyps rmx is a banger too.

Lyot Rmx... this track breathes and lives and you're slowly moving around it, getting a view of all its features, seeing how its appearance alters when your viewpoint changes. It's constantly shifting but never does the calm, assured equilibrium get broken. It exists independently of its beholder: it was already there when you started to listen and will sustain unabatingly after you had your time with it.

Will never forget Alex Paterson of the "Orb" playing this in Copenhagen at the Trekroner festival in Copenhagen in 93.

Lyot Remix is a genre-defining momentum of dubby deepness. A track that came out 20 years ago quickly transformed into a timeless masterpiece.

What a remix of Trak! While the structure of the original is mostly intact, it's mixed less densely. This is lighter and more kinetic than the original. The sounds have a lot more space to breathe and the pacing is excellent. The sense of motion is breathless and insistent. It's easy to get lost in.
