Whitney Houston – I Wish You Love: More From The Bodyguard

Nice artwork (inside - not crazy about the cover), but BAD BAD sound. Surface noise that runs through the whole thing aside, it's very compressed and muffled. Having seen reviews on the other pressings of this release, think it is just bad no matter which one. No.

I really want to love this release.After all it has the fabulous film versions of some fantastic songs however I must say that I am not entirely impressed by the pressing itself. I am appalled by the lack of quality control that was exerted here. The artwork itself is very nice however there are too many cracks and pops throughout this release. Sound quality wise this is a mixed bag. The master that was used for this release is great. Dynamics are excellent and instrument separation is stellar however whoever cut the lacquer could have done a better job. I find the volume too low as if each side was at least 25-30 minutes long but that is not the case here! If the volume was higher and the bass stronger this would be a fantastic release but something went wrong during the mastering process. Too bad. [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]

This record is so amazing and i’m so happy to have it in my collection. The songs are iconic, and I really like that they included some live versions as well. The artwork is great, but i don’t really like this cover as much as the original cover for the bodyguard vinyl that’s pressed on red. I do really like the purple vinyl too, and the sound quality is pretty clear as well.

Nobody has reviewed this album? I think this has been an underrated part of Whitney's catalog. Yes, it is essentially a reissue of the Bodyguard soundtrack. But, who bought that album for any of the other music? This has some excellent live versions from the tour, when her voice was still in it's prime. The film versions of the songs are on here, so this wasn't just a cash grab release. I own this on vinyl rather than the actual soundtrack album. The purple vinyl is nice, and other than the VMP reissue of her debut album (which is a stellar package!), and the OOP greatest live, also on purple, this has been the only music of hers released on vinyl since her death. And good luck finding a copy of her greatest live that doesn't cost a fortune. Some great live songs here, by a legend still at the top of her game!

Does anyone know if this was digitally remastered? Original tapes used? Not impressed by the quality at a very first glance.

Yep, I agree with the other reviewers, Surface noises abound on disc A track one. Ballads aren't supposed to have artifact sounds in this age and day in 2018. Nonetheless, it's a purple vinyl Whitney Houston added to my collection. BTW, I had the luxury of seeing Deborah Cox gracing the stage wonderfully portraying Rachel Marron in the Broadway version of "The Bodyguard" this past September 2017.

What a bad pressing! First I thought they took the tracks from promo acteates as the surface noise is only within the tracks. But if you listen to the MP3s you'll recognize it's from the vinyl... shame!
