The Crystalate Gramophone Record Manufacturing Co. Ltd. was formed in 1928 by British plastics company The Crystalate Manufacturing Company Ltd. (est 1901) who was a well established matrix maker and contract pressing agent for numerous British labels in the 1900s-20s.
Crystalate began pressing records for Kiddyphone among others.
In 1932 Crystalate acquired Broadcast (2).
In March 1937 Crystalate's record manufacturing division was sold to Decca. The Crystalate company continued its non-record related operations until 1990.
