GM Records (3)

GM Records was a Polish label and manufacturer, established by Marek Grela and operated between 1st of June 1990 and 16th of August 2017.

Originally a pirate cassette label and duplicator, GM Records later branched into CD and DVD replication. Related services were also offered and included the usual authoring, premastering and mastering services. They commenced pressing vinyl records in December 2015.

Effective 17 August 2017, GM Records was sold and the plant continued to operate as XDiSC.

CD Identification
The matrix number scheme is dd######mm, where
dd is the date of the glass mastering day (01 - 31),
###### is a 6 digit matrix number (where # can be 0 to 9 - started with 000 001)
mm identifies the glass mastering month (01 - 12).

Example: 0408331504 was glass mastered on 04 April; 1908353809 on 19 September.
Note: The release year cannot be derived from the matrix number alone.

When trying to credit the correct name of this plant on 2017 releases, the dd and mm glass mastering date in the matrix number can help direct you - any date before 17/08 belongs to GM Records; any date after that day belongs to wmfono.

Mastering SID Codes: IFPI T57 (first old version without letter L), IFPI LT57 and IFPI LT 58.
Mould SID Codes: IFPI Z901 to IFPI Z912, IFPI Z915 to IFPI Z918, IFPI Z920 to Z932, IFPI Z934 to IFPI Z974, IFPI Z980 to Z982. In some cases the 'Z' is missing and only the 3 digits are stated.

Note: Often the matrix also shows "Monotype Rec" - Monotype Pressing". This identifies the broker who ordered the pressing and should be credited as Manufactured By only.
