Eye Q Records was founded in 1990 by Heinz Roth. Some later logos are just Eye Q.
It was distributed via WEA Musik GmbH Neue Medien Und Elektronikvertrieb and "Eye Q Musikproduktion GmbH".

Label Code: LC 06450 / LC 6450.

The company was first ed in Frankfurt / Main as EYE Q Records Musikproduktion GmbH (March 21st, 1991 - June 10th, 1992), changed in June 1992 to Eye Q Musikproduktion GmbH and then to Eye Q Music GmbH. The german company was dissolved in August 1997 due to financial problems caused by their US division "Eye Q USA".

The UK division of the label continued to release records using a new label design just featuring Eye Q and changing the musical style quite severely.

EYE Q Records combines artist-orientated music with the energetic, pulsing rhythm of urban reality. Acts like SVEN VÄTH, EARTH NATION, STEVIE BE ZET and even RAINALD GOETZ are anything but "middle of the road" with their repertoire. Coming to grips with sounds, emotions and moods, together with song-based arrangements, are the priority here. 12" vinyl singles serve as the basis in the clubs, in order to demonstrate the central role of the clubs with their wealth of colours and unique fascination.

    When I started listening to trance in 1992, I didn't even know who the artists and record labels were. For the last few years I've been researching old trance gems and as I've discovered them I've found that some of the best ones are from Eye Q Records. Eye Q is synonym of the best trance music ever

      Eye Q has to be the best trance label of all time imo. Today's so called trance is just numb compared to the feeling and energy that the Eye Q tracks had back in the early nineties. The label and style is sorely missed :-(

        I'm in full agree with the comments above.
        Eye Q defined trance music every release is a pearl you can't go wrong.
        And i feel sad when i see what the most people defined today as "Trance" because the most stuff is nothing more then "cheesy commercial money geeting rave music".

        So the only thing i can say is rememeber the big times of Eye Q respect to these Label and the guys who create a sound which we ever remind!

          probably the label that defined the term 'trance' in it's purest and most creative form... you'll be hard pressed to find any cheesy tracks on here. It's become profoundly frustrating to see the current 'trance' producers make such heartless and formulaic tripe. Seems like most need to check the roots of the genre and rediscover this thing called musicality. Eye Q raised the bar.

            This is what I mean when I speak about TRANCE. This label is full of gems, expecially the releases before 1995. Stuff like "Icon-Desire", "Java-Cosmos",Energy 52, "Sven Vath "L'esperanza" or Brainchild, Earth Nation are more than simple classics. It's incredible that this style of music is degenerated into a commercial-banal-euro-sound that is simply waste.
            This is Trance.
