Suction Records

Profile:

Toronto's Suction Records was founded in early 1997 by like-minded robot music composers Solvent (Jason Amm). Originally considered part of the first wave of North American idm (intelligent dance music, ie. post-AFX / Autechre), Suction Records has slowly but surely established itself as an anomaly in the electronic music underground. Suction Records clearly represents a distinct musical and visual esthetic that is bold yet fuzzy, confrontational yet playful, robot yet human.

The label remained inactive from 2003 to 2007 and was declared "officially dead" in late December 2007. In 2010 they relaunched. Currently run by David Borean.
