Modern Invasion were basically the only distro that were importing death, grindcore and black metal into Australia and New Zealand since the early 1990s (probably even earlier). I seeing their ads in Hot Metal magazine. Anyone from these territories who was into that extreme music back in those days before the internet probably owes them a great debt.
My only complaint is they would stick their logo all over everything. CD covers, licensed shirts... I once met a guy who had that circle logo as a tattoo, because he had seen it on his Darkthrone 'Transilvanian Hunger' CD and thought it was a Darkthrone logo. I can't begin to count how many of my limited edition black metal vinyls have a permanent and unremovable Modern Invasion sticker stuck with seemingly random disregard on the cover.
