Gamma devoted itself particularly to Quebec performers and chansonniers,

In 1969 Gamma established itself in Paris, thus giving several of its artists exposure in and in other European countries. Its recordings, distributed in Europe until that time by Barclay, appeared on a new Gamma International label.

In 1978 the Société SFPP took over the distribution under the Gamma label. Following an agreement, certain recordings by the Europeans Mike Brant, Eric Charden, Marie Laforêt, Francis Lai, and St-Preux were released in Quebec through Gamma, whose productions in Canada are handled by Alta Musique Distribution, Ltd. By 1979, Gamma had produced nearly 150 LPs. Its activities were somewhat reduced after 1980.
