Newport Jazz Festival

Annual jazz festival held since 1954 in Fort Adams State Park, Newport, Rhode Island, USA. In 1972 the festival site was moved to New York, and from 1981 the festival was held at two sites, in Newport and in New York.

In the years 1984 to 2008 the festival was officially known as The JVC Jazz Festival. In 2009 CareFusion became the festival sponsor and from 2012 2012 Natixis Global Asset Management.

Sister festival of Newport Folk Festival.
Originally founded and financed by Elaine and Louis Lorillard, and organized by jazz impresario George Wein.
