Originally built in 191x as a movie theatre.
This mastering/recording studio was built by Glenn Snoddy approximately 1969.
A second mastering room was built by Westlake Audio in 1974, equipped with a Neumann VMS 70 lathe, a Neumann SAL 74 amplifier rack and Studer playback machines.

Suffered damages from tornados in 1998 and March 2020.

Bought by David Rawlings in 2002.

The front section of the building once housed the operation of Acony Records, the label of Welch and Rawlings.

Occasionally denoted as "WSS" or "woodland" etched in deadwax runout matrix sequences.
