Strictly Confidential was established 1998 by PIAS co-founders Michel Lambot and Kenny Gates, after renaming Les Editions Confidentielles.

While maintaining a close relationship with PIAS and at the same time developing its own roster of writers and composers, Strictly Confidential is one of the biggest independent publishers in Europe with a catalogue consisting of approximately 50.000 original titles and controlling over 500.000 titles in total.
