Yes, what a label this is! Sometimes, I think it´s like what they say about the blue note records "If you see one for a good price and even if you don´t know what it is, just take it home".
I´ve got quite a handful of records from them and most of them I deeply enjoy till this day.
4 to the floor, electronica, folk, pop, songwriting everything! Sweetest logo as well!

There isn't really much to say about this label apart from that it has a serious discography of artists running through, you just have to dig and discover for yourself. One of the top top labels of the 90's.

Why oh why when I want to look up the releases on Peacefrog does stuff like DJ Shadow The Less You Know, The Better get listed as a Peacefrog release.
Nice work Discogs you sure know how to mess up a once logical intuitive site.

I honestly believe that Peacefrog morphed into the thinking mans Warp, it evolved, and I mean that as an out and out bona-fide compliment to both...we all need evolution...otherwise it will all go stale and crusty...and I don't mean the good crusty...I mean it will all dry up, turn to dust and die...and we don't want that now do we? keep on moving...long live the revolution...long live evolution...

I think Peacefrog is the most impressive label in of catalogue and the last of the great techno labels after the demise of R&S.
Started in 1991, check the list of artists released, you practically have the whoswho of Detroit, Chicago and European-related creme de la creme.
And i quite appreciate the new direction since 2000-2001, apparently coinciding with the arrival of a&r Mark Kirby (founder of Vertical Form) who brought in eclectism with more vocal projects (Charles Webster), quality remixes compilations (Plaid, Herbert..), a touch of idm (Jello), minimal (Luciano) and now quite convincing folk-pop acts (Jose Gonzales, Readymade FC).
A top label altogether, always upright yet accessible.
