Based on what I've seen here in Korea, Oscar does not appear to have been *entirely* a bootleg label - there is some Korean material on the label that was probably recorded by them. Prior to 1971 there were no licensing agreements between any Korean labels and foreign record companies, or any formal recognition of foreign copyright, so these unauthorized issues of US/European music were not considered by Koreans to be bootlegs at the time, they were just normal. Thus, record companies which did legitimate business with Korean artists also dabbled in such material.

I just talked to the guy at my local record store, and he said that South Korea has no actual record companies, so there's several "bootleg labels" that are all unofficial releases. This label would be one of them.

From what I can tell, anything from this label is bootleg. I am unclear at this point if they are worth anything.

Does anyone know anything about this label? I cannot find any information on it at all.
