If it's about a specific string in Transifex, it's easiest if you post a comment within Transifex and click "Mark as Issue." Here is an explanation of how to ask a question about a string from within Transifex.

Now, I just made a couple of translation in order to take confidence in using transifex.
Two doubts:
1) must the be addressed formally, unformally or with infinite verbs as a neutral solution?
2) Acronyms like ANV must be translated fully, in short or not at all (i.e. NATO becoming OTAN, Organisation du Traité de l'Atlantique du Nord)?

1) Other translators have had similar questions, so I've added a section to the Translation Help Document to help clarify. Please let me know if you think I should add further clarification there.

2) We don't yet have translation guidelines in place to answer this. I'm curious to know what other translators think.

At this time, I want to leave this decision up to our community of translators - but I can help by adding words to the glossary, as well as recommendations for certain words and abbreviations

You may have noticed that in Transifex some words are underlined and will appear with a English glossary definition. Once we decide on definitions of Discogs-specific words, I can add the translation along with a comment to the Glossary. For example, here is the current French Glossary.

Most definitely agree with no_noise_reduction's idea and the reasoning behind that.

Consistency in translations for sure, and it will also help potential contributors to get accustomed to certain / abbreviations that are very discogs specific. ANV, alias, CIP but I'd also say 'release' and derivatives, 'tracklist', and so forth.
In addition to words already used worldwide such as 'post' or 'link', of course.

As far as my language (Italian) is concerned, there's a couple drawbacks I can think of. Translation will certainly be less fluent to a certain extent; some phrasing / sentences might not sound that good to a purist's hear, so the hard part is to try and blend nicely discogs with the recipient language.

Just a few considerations, advantages outweigh drawbacks anyway so I'm all for it.

Thanks for the ! In your specific language thread, post the words and translations that you think should be added to the Glossary. Other translators can discuss and offer suggestions too, and then I can add your list to the Transifex Glossary for your language.

Here is an explanation of the Transifex Glossary feature.

So, for example, here is a list of a few German translations that were provided:

Limited Edition = Limitierte Auflage
Tag = Tags (leave untranslated / use English)
Tracklist = Trackliste

And I added them to the German Transifex Glossary. Now a string that includes a word in the Glossary will be underlined and all translators in the language will see the same Glossary translation.

Translators are also welcome to add Glossary translations and comments, although please discuss any addition you make with other translators before adding it. Let me know if you have questions!

I have an issue that is not very easy to solve and might require some work, but it might be added to developers' todo list if they think it is worth.
In Italian (and I think other languages too) nouns and sometimes verbs can also be declined/conjugated by gender.
If I am correct, currently you cannot specify your gender in your profile. If this option is added in the future, it will be possible to provide different strings when addressing male or female s (if transifex s this). For example, Facebook does this.
Currently in italian we are using strings for male s. We may use workarounds but they are quite ugly "Sei stato menzionato/a in un messaggio".
I don't really know if it is technically feasible with transifex, but I wanted to raise this issue.

Thanks for bringing this up! You are right, I think this would take quite a bit of work from our development team. However, it's certainly something we should consider in the future!

I believe Transifex has a work around for this, but it might require having totally separate strings with context code inserted for each string that needs grammatical gender differentiation.

I'll chat with our team about this! In the meantime I recommend continuing translations as you have been: translating strings as if they are addressing male s. Discogs s are predominantly male, so I'll let you guys win the grammatical gender battle this time. ;)

Hi ThomasDeXter. That is correct, unfortunately Slovak is not a ed language. We hope one day we can this language in the future and have you as a translator. Thank you for wanting to help!

Hello. Is it possible for an individual to work on a Turkish translation/language ?
