To state the obvious Skynet is a dope album. Uniformly dark, yet widescreen & melodic. Non-derivative darkness, dripping with mood, confidence, understatedness.
Then i heard of this remix. How many soul-wrenching detroit tracks since Population One's 12"s on Metroplex actually have been made ? How many can you recall & moreover how many of them went beyond the light/dark to generate new feelings. Drexciya did this by nature. I rate Vmax too, you might rate other producers. My only point is emotionally futuristic burners are _-not-_ the norm
Skyway was the opening track for good reason. Its cyberpunk as fk. Melodically directed & full of alien enquiry.
Marcel Dettmann is 100% effective if the aim was to remove all colour & poignancy.
